Level 1 Hot Mix Asphalt Technician
Essential Functions:
- Perform material sampling of both asphalt hot mix and aggregates
- Report daily QC testing for asphalt plant production
- Logging and tracking samples from lab receipt to invoicing
- Conduct materials testing using SCDOT quality control guidelines
- Review plans to ensure compliance with testing and specifications
- Calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Maintaining compliance with QA/QC manual
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Calculations and data reduction of test results and other company attendance policy to ensure operate at normal proficiency level
- Follow all safety policies and PPE use
Required Skills and Experience:
- Precision in work and attention to detail
- Potential to progress to Level 2
- Maintain a clear and organized working area
- Hot Mix Level 1 or the ability to obtain Level 1
- Understanding of the lab equipment
- Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work activities
- Communicate with plant personnel to ensure quality mix
